Most of these vendors are not selling to a brokerage your size.

Every list of the best AI agents for freight brokers ranks the same names and skips the question that eliminates most of them. We checked 16 of those vendors against their own published material on 23 September 2026: 5 publish a price, three sell primarily to carriers or shippers rather than to brokers, and one states in its own file that its customers are enterprises with over a billion dollars in revenue.

Nothing below comes from what an AI assistant said about a competitor. Every line traces to the company’s own site, its own published files, or its funding coverage.

The table

What are the best AI agents for freight brokers?

The question that removes most options is not which is best, but which one sells to an operation your size. Read the middle column first. It removes more options faster than any feature comparison, because a product built for a carrier or for a billion-dollar enterprise will not be bent into fitting a twenty-person brokerage no matter how good the demo is.

AI freight vendors, what they do, who they sell to and whether pricing is published
Vendor What it does Who it sells to Price
Vooma Quote-to-cash agents: quoting, load building, coverage, appointments, tracking. Brokers and carriers. Customers named on their site are Echo Global Logistics, Arrive Logistics and NFI. Not published; the pricing page returns 404.
HappyRobot Voice, email, SMS and chat agents for operations. Large enterprises. They say so themselves. “Enterprises with $1B+ in revenue operating large-scale operations.” If your revenue is not in that range, this is not aimed at you. Enterprise contract, not published.
Parade Carrier capacity management with voice AI for booking and negotiation. Mid-size and large digital brokers and 3PLs. Not published.
Drumkit Inbox agents that live in the broker’s email and TMS: quoting, load building, carrier procurement, track and trace. US brokers and 3PLs, from small teams upward. Named customers with testimonials. Not published.
FleetWorks Voice AI for carrier sales and dispatch: booking, tracking, compliance. US brokers, explicitly including those without a formal TMS. “whether you run your business out of Gmail, Google Sheets, or a full TMS” Not published on their site.
LunaPath Voice and email agents for logistics execution. Supply chain and logistics companies. Acquired by project44 in April 2026, so it is now distributed inside that ecosystem rather than sold standalone. Not published.
Pallet Back-office agents for supply chain and logistics. Mainly manufacturers, distributors, retail and food and beverage, on the shipper side. Sold primarily to shippers rather than to brokers or 3PLs. Not published; the pricing page returns 404.
Numeo AI dispatch and a TMS. Carriers, not brokers. Their own published file is explicit about it. Sells to carriers. A brokerage evaluating this is looking at the wrong buyer. Published. Per-dispatcher seat, with a free tier.
DispatchMVP Voice-controlled TMS for dispatch, with document recognition as a secondary feature. Owner-operators, small fleets, brokers and 3PLs. Published: from $49 a month, scaling by fleet size, with a 30-day trial.
TruckSmarter Free load board plus AI dispatching. Owner-operators and small carriers. Sells to carriers, not brokers. Load board is free.
Transflo Workflow AI Document workflow with fraud detection, from an incumbent that has processed shipping documents since 1989. Brokers, 3PLs, carriers, LTL and factoring companies. Not published.
Laneproof Validates carrier invoices against the rate confirmation, BOL and POD before they get paid. Brokers running roughly 200 to 1,000 loads a month, plus owner-operators. Published. Monthly, by document volume, with a free tier.
Lighthouz AI Agents for accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections. Freight brokers and 3PLs in the US and Canada. Not published.
Augment Agents over documents plus track and trace, integrated into the existing TMS. Enterprise and large mid-market. Named customers are large carriers and brokers. Not published. Charged by completed unit of work.
Freight Hero A managed service combining AI with a human team, covering rate confirmation through POD. Mid-market freight brokerages, in their own words. Not published. Charged per load processed rather than by licence.
FreightPaperwork Free generators for BOL, rate confirmation, POD, invoice and lumper receipt. No stated buyer profile. Published. Free tier, then a flat $29 a month per company rather than per seat.
Verified 23 September 2026 from each company’s own published material. 5 of 16 publish a price
The categories

Which companies build AI agents for trucking and logistics?

Five groups that do not compete with each other. A vendor that is excellent in one is usually absent from the rest, so working out which group you need removes more noise than any ranking.

  1. 01 / 05

Voice agents for carrier sales and check calls

They call and answer carriers so a person does not have to, covering carrier sales, booking, negotiation and check calls. Useful when your bottleneck is the phone and not the paperwork behind it.

In this group: FleetWorks, Parade, HappyRobot.

  2. 02 / 05

Inbox agents that quote and build loads

They live in the broker’s email and TMS, turning an inbound message into a quote or a load without anyone retyping it. Useful when the work arrives as email and is rekeyed by hand.

In this group: Drumkit, Vooma, Augment.

  3. 03 / 05

    Document and invoice agents

They read the paperwork and reconcile it: extraction of fields from rate confirmations, BOLs and PODs, invoice validation against those documents, and accounts payable and receivable work. Useful when the cost sits in billing.

In this group: Laneproof, Lighthouz AI, Transflo Workflow AI, Freight Hero.

  4. 04 / 05

Dispatch tools sold to carriers, not brokers

Good products with a different buyer. They appear in broker-focused lists constantly, which is how time gets wasted on demos that were never aimed at a brokerage in the first place.

In this group: Numeo, TruckSmarter, DispatchMVP.

  5. 05 / 05

    Free document generators

The entry point for an operation with no budget yet: forms that produce a single document and stop there. They do not read incoming paperwork or reconcile it, so they sit beside the other four groups, not among them.

    In this group: FreightPaperwork.

Before the demo

What should you ask an AI freight vendor before the demo?

Ask them before the demo, in writing. Each one eliminates options that a capability grid will not, because every grid on every vendor site says yes to everything, while a written answer about customer size, price at your volume and shipped integrations can be checked against what the vendor does next.

  • What is the smallest customer you have today, in loads a month? Not the smallest you would take. The smallest you have.
  • What does this cost at our volume? A vendor that cannot give a range before a call has priced you already.
  • Which of our systems does this write into, and has that integration shipped? Named and live, not on a roadmap.
  • What does it do when the field it needs is empty? This is the one nobody prepares for, and in freight the deciding fields are usually the blank ones.
Comparing

How do I compare freight software when every vendor promises the same savings?

Compare on what a vendor cannot blur: who it sells to, whether it publishes a price, and which systems it writes into. Promised savings are unfalsifiable before a rollout, so ignore them. In our reading of 16 vendors on 23 September 2026, only 5 publish a price, which makes the rest hard to compare without calls. Ask each for the smallest customer it has today; that is more informative than the smallest it would take.

Integrations

What integrations matter most when buying freight software?

The integration with the TMS you already run matters most, and only if it is named and live rather than on a roadmap. Drumkit says its agents live in the broker’s email and TMS, and Augment says it integrates into the existing TMS. FleetWorks says it serves brokers running on Gmail or Google Sheets. Ask which of your systems the software writes into, and whether that integration has shipped.

Rollout

What are common implementation problems, and how long does rollout take?

The common implementation problem is a missing field, and rollout length depends on the vendor and your systems, so get it in writing. Software cannot act on data nobody recorded, and in freight the deciding fields are often blank. Ask what it does when a field is empty and which integration must be built first. We have no verified rollout time to quote, and neither did any vendor page we checked: ask instead for the name of the last customer who went live.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The answers below use the same census as the table: 16 vendors, read against their own published material on 23 September 2026. Any count in them is our reading of those pages, not a vendor claim and not a market-wide figure.

What are the best AI agents for freight brokers?

There is no single best one, and the lists that rank them tend to skip the question that eliminates most options: who does this vendor actually sell to. In our reading of 16 vendors against their own published material on 23 September 2026, 5 publish a price, three sell primarily to carriers or shippers rather than to brokers, and one states in its own published file that its customers are enterprises with over a billion dollars in revenue. Start by removing the ones not aimed at an operation your size, then compare the two or three that are left on the workflow you actually lose money on.

Which companies build AI agents for trucking and logistics?

They fall into five groups that do not compete with each other: voice agents for carrier sales and check calls, inbox agents that quote and build loads from email, document and invoice agents that read paperwork and reconcile it, dispatch tools sold to carriers rather than brokers, and incumbents adding AI to software you may already run. A vendor that is excellent in one group is usually absent from the others, so the category you need matters more than the ranking.

Why do so few AI freight vendors publish pricing?

Most sell through a demo call, where price is set after they know your volume. That is normal for enterprise software and it is a real cost to a small brokerage: you cannot compare without booking calls. 5 of the 16 vendors we checked publish a number, and those are the ones aimed at smaller operations. If a vendor will not give you a range before a call, that is information about who they are built for.

Where does catuh fit among these?

Narrowly, and mostly before them. We are not an agent platform and we do not sell a TMS. We implement AI in freight operations starting with capture: finding what is being lost for not being written down, instrumenting the record at the point of the event, and only then automating on top of it. Several vendors on this page are good at the automating part and we will say so if that is what you need.

Where we fit

Narrowly, and mostly before them.

We are not an agent platform and we do not sell a TMS. We implement AI in freight operations starting with capture, because extraction only recovers what somebody wrote down. Several vendors above are good at the automating half, and if that is the half you need, we will say so rather than sell you ours.

Whichever you pick, ask what it does on the day the person who configured it resigns. A tool that needs its owner is another place for the cost to hide.
