What are you owed for the wait?

Fill in the two times and the terms from your rate confirmation. You get the amount, and the record behind it: every hour with the source it came from. No account, no card, and nothing to fill in before the download.

The stop

Every time carries where it came from. A time with no source is an assertion; a time with a source is evidence.

The scheduled time, not when you got there.
The agreed terms

These are the agreed terms, not estimates. If your rate con is silent on any of them, that silence is the reason the claim is hard to win.

The deciding field

Arrive two hours early and the payer will say the clock starts at the appointment. Arrive late and they will say it starts at arrival. Whichever your rate confirmation names, name it here, because on the same stop these two answers can differ by more than the detention itself.

Leave empty unless your rate con caps it.
Why this one is different

Most detention claims fail on arithmetic nobody can check.

An invoice that says detention, $260 invites an argument. A worksheet that shows the appointment, the arrival, the hour the free time ran out and who logged each one leaves nothing to argue about except whether the wait happened.

What decides yours

Rate confirmation names a detention rate

Free hours stated in writing
required
Each time carries a source
required

Miss any one of the three and the claim becomes your word against a receiver who has no incentive to remember. That is the whole difference between an invoice and a claim.

This is one link of five.

The calculator can only work with times somebody recorded. These two are where the numbers it needs come from.

Before the truck moves01 / 05

Rate confirmation sets the detention rate and the free hours in writing. Without that clause there is no number to enforce.

While it is moving02 / 05

Trip sheet logs arrival and departure at each stop with the source of every time, and feeds this calculator without retyping.

When they do not pay05 / 05

Send us the three claims nobody paid and we build the files: the demand letter quoting your own accessorial clause, the timeline, exhibits numbered. Send three claims.

Questions
When does the free time start, at the appointment or at arrival?
Whichever your rate confirmation names. If it is silent, expect the payer to argue for whichever is later. Arriving two hours early and arriving on time produce very different claims from the same wait, which is why this calculator makes you state it rather than assuming it.
What do I attach to the claim?
The rate confirmation that names the detention rate and free hours, the signed bill of lading, and whichever record the times came from: the gate log, the ELD ping or the trip sheet. The worksheet cites them; it does not replace them.
Does catuh see my load data?
No. The worksheet is assembled in your browser and downloaded from there. We record a SHA-256 hash of the file so the copy you present later can be shown to be the one generated that day, and nothing else about it.
